NRCC Launches New Ad: Matheson Proud to Run on Failed Obama Agenda

A Supporter of Obama’s Reckless Spending Habits, Utah Democrat Has Made a Bad Economy Worse

WASHINGTON – In a new ad announced today, the National Republican Congressional Committee ties Jim Matheson to President Obama’s failed economic agenda. While Utah families and small businesses struggle in a fragile economy, Matheson refuses to end his out-of-control spending addiction.

“Drowning in a weak economy, Utah small business owners and working families need Jim Matheson to stop burdening them with more debt,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “However, he is proud to boast his support of Obama’s nearly $1 trillion taxpayer-funded stimulus that has continued to hold  the Utah economy under water.”

The script for this ad is as follows:

MATHESON: I alone among the Utah delegation supporter President Obama’s jobs legislation.

ANNOUNCER: That’s Jim Matheson, bragging about President Obama’s failed stimulus plan that cost us $800 billion.

Jim Matheson backed Obama’s agenda 75% of the time.

MATHESON: I’m a Democrat and I’m here to say I don’t run from that label.

ANNOUNCER: We’ve noticed.

MATHESON: I alone among the Utah delegation supporter President Obama’s jobs legislation.

ANNOUNCER: Yeah, we’ve noticed that too.
