November 27, 2012

WASHINGTON – The National Republican Congressional Committee released statements from incoming Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) and his Deputy Chairman selection, Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA):

Incoming Chairman Greg Walden:

“Lynn Westmoreland is a well-respected leader in the House, and I’m pleased that he will serve as Deputy Chairman at the NRCC.  Lynn is savvy, thoughtful and a hard worker.  He knows what it takes to win elections.  Together, with the help of our Republican colleagues, we will pick up seats in 2014.

“Lynn led the NRCC’s redistricting efforts that helped to solidify our majority.  Lynn’s efforts helped strengthen the districts of many of our members and gain ground in many states.”
Incoming Deputy Chairman Lynn Westmoreland:

“I am honored my good friend Greg Walden has asked me to serve as his deputy at the NRCC. I enjoyed my time as a vice chairman working on candidate recruitment and redistricting and look forward to my new role.

“We need strong leadership at the NRCC and I know Chairman-Elect Walden is just the guy to make sure we maintain the House and to put us in a position to grow our majority. I want to thank Greg for this opportunity and his continued leadership.”
