NRCC Announces Online Petition To Tell Senate Democrats If You Don’t Pass A Budget, You Won’t Get Paid

NoBudgetNoPay

WASHINGTON – Across the country, families and small businesses live off budgets. Yet for the last four years, Senate Democrats have failed to pass one—a basic governing responsibility. Meanwhile, House Republicans have repeatedly confronted our nation’s fiscal crisis by passing budgets that cut spending.

The National Republican Congressional Committee is calling on House Democrats to sign our new petition telling Harry Reid and Senate Democrats if they continue to refuse to pass a budget, they won’t get paid. They can sign it here: www.nrcc.org/nobudgetnopay

“If Washington liberals won’t do their job, they shouldn’t be paid,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “It’s time House Democratssign our petition and hold Senate Democrats accountable for their failures.”

Senate Democrats Last Passed A Budget On April 29, 2009. “The Senate last passed a traditional budget on April 29, 2009, and lawmakers have relied on short-term stopgap measures to fund the federal government’s operations since the measure expired.” (Chris Moody, “House Republicans To Senate Democrats: Pass A Budget And We’ll Increase The Debt Limit,” Yahoo News, 1/18/13)
