Barrow and Obama: Two Peas In A Pod

February 14, 2013

Isn’t it sad when two sweethearts can’t be together on Valentine’s Day? Whether it’s Romeo and Juliet, Noah and Allie, or Barrow and Obama, outside forces can put a strain on any relationship.

Barack Obama had to go out and sell his liberal agenda in the Peach State and Georgia Congressman John Barrow had to stay home in Washington and rubberstamp the president’s failed economic agenda. We here at the NRCC tried to play Cupid this Valentine’s Day but sadly, it just couldn’t work. In case you missed it, we reserved a plane ticket for Barrow to visit his ideological soul mate Obama. We’ve yet to hear from Barrow, but we’re hoping that true love will win out and they can be together campaigning on this Valentine’s Day.Happy-Valentines-Day

But even if they can’t be together, let’s do what any sweethearts should do on a day like this: remember the good times.

Remember that time Barrow endorsed Obama and Obama returned the favor? I think that may have lit the spark.

And what better way to test a relationship than through the rough patches? When Barrow was on the brink of losing is seat in Congress, Obama stepped up and vouched for his liberal credentials.

And then there was that time when Barrow voted for Obama’s $800 stimulus package?

What’s a relationship without the feeling of safety and protection? Just like when Barrow voted to protect Obamacare—the president’s signature liberal overreach—from repeal.

So Happy Valentine’s Day John Barrow and Barack Obama! You guys really are two peas in a pod.
