John Tierney and Nancy Pelosi: Two Cards of the Same Suit

February 25, 2013

So let’s get this straight – despite years of trillion dollar deficits and a total of $16 trillion of debt, Nancy Pelosi and John Tierney say that we don’t have a spending problem?

Is it not a problem that taxpayers fund Moroccan pottery classes as part of a $27 million grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development? Or that the federal government spent $300,000 of taxpayer money on efforts to promote caviar consumption and production, half a million dollars to promote specialty shampoo for cats and dogs, and $350,000 on a government-funded study on how golfers might benefit from pretending the hole is larger than it actually is?

That’s not a spending problem Congressman?

Of course, this is the same guy that has no problem joking about a gambling enterprise run out of his fugitive brother-in-law’s Antigua home.

“John Tierney just doesn’t get it. In a single week he has joked about his brother-in-law’s international gambling ring and now claims that the United States does not have a spending problem. If the glib Tierney doesn’t do something about the fact that we are gambling with our children’s future with trillion dollar deficits, his luck is going to run out in 2014.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
