Obama Cancels White House Tours But 3 Person Calligraphy Team Still Hard At Work

March 6, 2013

Yesterday, The White House announced that, effective Saturday, White House tours would be canceled indefinitely. The Obama Administration blames the sequester for the shortage of resources necessary.

What’s interesting however is a new report from The Weekly Standard out this morning. Apparently, the White House calligraphy team is still hard at work. Reports show that The White House employs three calligraphers at a total salary of $277,050.

The chief calligrapher makes $96,725 a year, while the rest of the team makes $94,372 and $85,953 respectively.

The American public will be comforted to know that, though they may be shut out of the people’s house, the calligraphers will still be writing invitations to see the president’s home.

Those who can expect to be seeing their handy work include top donors to President Obama’s campaign committee and celebrities such as George Clooney and Anna Wintour.
