Georgia Is Counting On John Barrow To Stand Up For Jobs

Why Won’t John Barrow Support A Balanced Budget That Will Spur Economic Growth?

FYI, a similar version of this release below went out to the following Bush/McCain/Romney districts: Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ-01), Ron Barber (AZ-02), Collin Peterson (MN-07), Mike McIntyre (NC-07), Jim Matheson (UT-04), and Nick Rahall (WV-03).

WASHINGTON – Americans are looking for leadership to create jobs and pay down our skyrocketing debt. Yesterday, Paul Ryan put forth a plan that will balance the budget in ten years and spur economic growth—the only plan that will do so.

Meanwhile, John Barrow’s Democrat leaders have a plan that never balances the budget – ever. Families and businesses are depending on Barrow to support a plan that will bring fiscal sanity to Washington and bring economic security to middle-class families, not make things worse.

“Balancing budgets is common sense to Georgia families and businesses. Washington politicians, like John Barrow, could learn a thing or two from them,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “It’s time for Barrow to stand up against his party’s plan to never balance the budget.”

Paul Ryan Introduced A Budget Yesterday That Will Balance In Ten Years. “Republican budget standard-bearer Paul Ryan on Tuesday offered his party’s most provocative fiscal framework in years, calling for Medicare and Medicaid overhauls and new limits on defense spending not previously endorsed by party leaders. These changes, almost all of which the White House and Democrats have said they oppose, would combine with January’s tax increases to eliminate the government’s budget deficit in 2023, a top GOP goal, says Mr. Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee. Prior House GOP budget resolutions called for changes that would have taken several decades to eliminate the deficit.” (Damien Paletta, “GOP Budget Establishes Contrast With Democrats,” The Wall Street Journal, 3/12/13)
