Washington Post Bashes Democrat Budget

March 15, 2013

The Washington Post is out with two scathing editorials this morning. This time taking on Senate Democrats’ “complacent” budget.

The editorial board calls them out for a proposal that is not serious:

“Partisan in tone and complacent in substance, it scores points against the Republicans and reassures the party’s liberal base — but deepens these senators’ commitment to an unsustainable policy agenda.”

In a separate op-ed, Post writer Michael Gerson takes a harder line against the budget, saying Senate Democrats’ “silence was more responsible.”

“Congressional Democrats, in turn, have emerged from nearly four years of budgetary silence with their own ideological caricature — a proposal combining heavy taxes, budgetary gimmicks, a net increase in spending and a strident refusal to consider meaningful entitlement reform. The silence was more responsible.”

This is just further criticism of the Democrats’ budget that never balances, higher taxes, and even a new stimulus.

We waited four years for this?
