President Obama’s government takeover of healthcare is turning 3 and Nancy Pelosi couldn’t be more proud.

Today, she released a statement praising this unmitigated disaster. Unfortunately, she left out some crucial facts. Thankfully, we here at the NRCC are going to help out Speaker Pelosi by making sure her statement was accurate.

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement to mark the third anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, which falls tomorrow:

“Today, we mark nearly three years since President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law – enacting a measure that stays true to our core values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all Americans.

This law expands our competitiveness, promotes wellness and prevention, and enhances the economic security of the middle class.

  • The Congressional Budget Office estimates that 7 million people will lose their healthcare coverage they have.
  • Young and healthy Americans are going to see a jump in their healthcare coverage due to Obamacare.
  • Obamacare has also taken a toll on pets and cheeseburgers. Reports show that Obamacare’s taxes will be passed on through veterinary costs and food prices.

It enables Americans to pursue their dreams, start a business, change jobs, or care for their families with the certainty and security of affordable, quality health insurance.

  • Pursue their dreams? Maybe if your dream was to pay more for health insurance or lose your coverage altogether.
  • Start a business or change jobs? It is a fact that Obamacare has slowed hiring considerably and contributed to our country’s economic stagnation. The tens of thousands of regulations doesn’t help start businesses, it helps end them.

“The Affordable Care Act has transformed lives, communities, and our society for the better in the past three years.

  • It has transformed lives, communities, and our society, but not for the better. In fact, this law is turning out to be a disaster.

Moving forward, we must defend this law and keep acting to make history for our country and progress for the American people.”
