Boehner, House GOP Cut Over $400 Million In Operating Costs

April 25, 2013

Real leaders lead by example.

When John Boehner took the Speaker’s gavel in January 2011, he promised to cut costs.

He even installed current NRCC Chairman Greg Walden to lead the GOP transition and identify areas where the House of Representatives could run more efficiently.

Today, he is showing he delivered on that promise. USA Today is reporting that Boehner and the House GOP saved taxpayers over $400 million in operating costs—a reduction of over 15 percent.

This is a testament to both the bloat of the federal government and how real leadership can change Washington.

But they’re not done yet, House Republicans are committed to finding common-sense solutions and making our federal government smaller and more efficient.
