BREAKING: New Poll Shows Carol Shea-Porter and Annie Kuster Are . . . Not Popular

April 25, 2013

CBLIn case you missed it, yesterday the University of New Hampshire Survey Center released its latest WMUR Granite State Poll. Let’s just say that it’s not good news for vulnerable New Hampshire Congresswomen Carol Shea-Porter and Annie Kuster.

Among surveyed voters, 32% view Shea-Porter unfavorably while 31% view her favorably. This is the same net underwater figure from the last UNH-WMUR poll in February. Her support among Democrats has shrunk from 64% to 45% since February and she remains at -8% among independent voters.

The news might be even worse for Annie Kuster. Only 29% view her favorably while 30% view her unfavorably for a net of -1% favorability. This is way down from February when she was viewed favorably by 32% of those surveyed and unfavorably by 23%. Her popularity among independents has also plummeted; in February she was +9%, now she is -12%. Apparently New Hampshire didn’t take kindly to Kuster being late on $40,000 worth of property taxes and rationalizing on TV that “life is expensive,” despite being worth close to $2 million.

Between Annie Kuster’s ethical problems and Carol Shea-Porter’s unwillingness to listen to and represent her constituents, the Granite State has two of the least effective and most mistake-prone Members of Congress. It is no surprise that New Hampshire is turning away from Kuster’s and Shea-Porter’s stale ideas and failed leadership and is looking forward to a new direction in 2014. – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
