You can’t sit with us, Joe Baca!

Well, it looks like with 18 months to go before the 2014 elections, California Democrats are already engaging in middle school antics.

Joe Baca, who’s running for the 31^st District seat, has been touting his Washington endorsements as if it’s something he should be proud of. A true Washington insider, Baca has been bragging to Roll Call about the 30 House Democrats who are supporting him in the primary. But Baca shouldn’t get too comfortable – Redlands Mayor Pete Aguilar, the DCCC backed candidate, is coming after him touting similarly “good” endorsements.

That’s right – with more than a year to go before the election, the infighting and petty politics between the two Democrats has already begun.

“I represented that district, I have the name ID, I’m experienced and have a proven track record, and I’m a veteran and that’s what will stand out,” Baca said.

The only thing that stands out for Baca is the disarray and DCCC recruiting mess that he’s found himself in. Before he worries about running to represent California’s 31^st, maybe he should figure out how to control the Democratic infighting and endorsement competition that’s already derailing his campaign.

“This shouldn’t be a popularity contest to see who can win over Nancy Pelosi and her Washington Democrats. This is about California families and they deserve better than Baca and Aguilar’s petty approach to campaigning.”
