Obama’s New Regulations Will Hurt Arizona Families

WASHINGTON – Today, President Obama will announce a new set of climate change regulations that will raise energy costs and stifle economic growth. This, four years to the day, after he pushed Congress to approve his cap-and-trade scheme that the Wall Street Journal called, “the biggest tax hike in American history.”

Across the country, Americans are still struggling from President Obama and Nancy Pelosi’s failed economic policies. It’s time for Kyrsten Sinema to stand up and reject Obama’s new regulations that will raise energy prices and hurt job creation.

“President Obama’s plans for higher energy costs will hurt Arizona families,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “It’s a disgrace that Kyrsten Sinema would support polices that stifle job growth. While families across Arizona are tightening their belts, she’s ready to take even more of their money.”

At The Time, The Wall Street Journal Called Cap-And-Trade “The Biggest Tax Hike In American History.” “Americans should know that those Members who vote for this climate bill are voting for what is likely to be the biggest tax in American history. Even Democrats can’t repeal that reality.” (“The Cap and Tax Fiction,” The Wall Street Journal, 6/26/09)

President Obama Will Announce Regulations To Limit Carbon Dioxide Emissions From Power Plants. “President Barack Obama’s national plan to combat climate change will include the first-ever regulations to limit carbon dioxide emissions from existing power plants, as well as increased production of renewable energy on public lands and federally assisted housing, environmental groups briefed on the plan said Monday.” (Josh Lederman, “AP sources: Obama to limit carbon at power plants,” Associated Press, 6/24/13)

According To A New Study, Obama’s New Regulations Will Impact 37,000 Employees. “Today, President Obama will call for greenhouse gas (GHG) limits on existing stationary sources.  Examining the largest sources in the U.S., the American Action Forum (AAF) estimates such a proposal will affect more than 37,000 employees and regulate a variety of industries.” (Catrina Rorke and Sam Batkins, “Implications Of Regulating Existing Greenhouse Gas Sources,” American Action Forum, 6/24/13)
