Nick Rahall – A Political Sellout Who’s Allergic to the Truth

The full scale Washington liberal assault on West Virginia is in full swing. We already know that President Obama plans to ramp up his War on Coal, and now we know that Nancy Pelosi’s flagship issue is energy and climate change.

The last thing West Virginia needs is President Obama waging his War on Coal with Nancy Pelosi helping him as Speaker of the House.

Especially since Nick Rahall has completely sold out to Obama and Pelosi while in Washington D.C. Let’s take a look at Rahall’s record in that regard:

Rahall supported and even campaigned for President Obama in both 2008 and 2012;

Rahall consistently votes for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House;

Rahall voted for the ultra-liberal and anti-coal Progressive Budget, which was too liberal for a majority of Democrats;

Rahall voted against the Keystone Pipeline, calling it a right wing bill, despite the fact that the bill he voted against had the support of New York liberal Democrats and the AFL-CIO;

Rahall joined a select group of liberal legislators at the EPA Headquarters to celebrate the agency’s expansion of power and its ability to sidestep Congress in the War on Coal.

NRCC Comment: “Since being elected to Congress in 1976, Nick Rahall has perfected his political con game. When he’s in Washington, he supports President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and their ultra-liberal, anti-coal agenda. When he’s in West Virginia, however, he sings a different tune that completely misrepresents what he is doing in Washignton. West Virginians deserve more than a political sellout who after 36 years in Congress has become allergic to the truth.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
