AMI BERA: DC Democrat vs. Hometown “Bipartisan”

July 30, 2013

abAs one of the Democrats’ most vulnerable members, Ami Bera is raking in the ca$h from some of the most partisan Democrats.

Despite his countless claims of bipartisanship — Today, Democratic Maryland Rep. Chris Van Hollen is hosting a fundraiser for Ami Bera. This fundraiser comes on the heels of Democratic National Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz hosting a fundraiser to benefit Bera last week. And also worth noting, Ami Bera is a darling of the DCCC, named to their Frontline program for vulnerable Democrats in March.

Ami Bera might campaign on bipartisanship in California, but when he’s in Washington, he’s raking in DC Democrats’ cash and voting with the Democratic Party nearly 9 out of 10 times.

“Despite campaign promises of bipartisanship, Ami Bera is enjoying the fruits of his partisan record as he rakes in the cash from National Democrats. Rather than offer the leadership he promised throughout his campaign, Ami Bera is making himself at home as a loyal partisan in Congress, voting with Democrats nearly 9 out of 10 times.” – Alleigh Marré, NRCC Spokeswoman
