New NRCC Television Ad Tells Rick Nolan: Stop Playing Politics With Our Veterans

WASHINGTON – The National Republican Congressional Committee released a new broadcast television ad in Minnesota today that highlights Congressman Rick Nolan’s inability to stand up for our nation’s veterans.

Nolan was just 1 of 4 Members of Congress to vote against veterans’ benefits, job training and crucial medical care in legislation that was brought to the floor earlier this year. Nolan’s inability to stand up for the members of our country who have dedicated their lives to keeping our families and livelihood safe is inexcusable – and it’s time that voters in Minnesota knew what their Representative really stood for.

“For Nolan to play politics with the health of our Nation’s bravest men and women is abhorrent,” said NRCC Spokeswoman Alleigh Marré.  “Minnesota veterans deserve a Representative who will fight to protect them after they have served and given so much to defend our country.”

The script for the ad is below:

ANNOUNCER:  They served their country with honor.

Some paid a dreadful price.

But Congressman Rick Nolan let them down.

One of just four in Congress to vote against the veterans’ bill.

Nolan voted against life-saving medical care.

Against the benefits they earned for their families.

Against job training to help them transition.

Rick Nolan dishonored their service.

And played politics with their sacrifice.
