After 4 Months Of Paid Leave, IRS Official At Heart Of Scandal Retires
Remember Lois Lerner?
She was the senior IRS official at the heart of the scandal involving the inappropriate targeting of conservative groups. Though she proudly stated she did nothing wrong before a congressional committee back in May, she invoked the 5th Amendment and later demanded full immunity in exchange for testimony.
The Associated Press is reporting that she will now retire.
Lerner was initially asked to resign over the scandal. She refused and was placed on paid leave.
The IRS scandal goes against everything our country stands for. We cannot condone targeting Americans based on their political beliefs. Stand with the House Republican majority. Since Lerner first acknowledged these actions, we’ve been looking for answers to ensure this never happens again.
