It’s time for Sean Eldridge to answer some questions

In the worst kept secret of the political season, “Special Interest” Sean Eldridge tweeted during the Emmy Awards that he is running for Congress.

Maybe now that he is running, he can stop ducking the media and answer some questions about his candidacy that looks awfully opportunistic to many.

Here are a few questions to get started:

-You claim to want to get money and special interests out of politics, but you have donated hundreds of thousands of your fortune to Democratic candidates and Super Pacs that have spent millions on behalf of special interests. Are you saying that your special interests are more important than everyone else’s?

-You have been passing out money in the same district where you are running for Congress. Is this your way of getting around the rules and buying support for your Congressional campaign?

-You claim that you are “independent,” but you have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democratic candidates, you are close friends with Nancy Pelosi, and your twitter feed shows nothing but contempt for anyone who is not a Democrat. How exactly can such a partisan liberal Democrat be “independent?”

-The same PR firm running your political campaign is also working on your efforts to hand out money throughout the Hudson Valley. What have you put in place to make sure that these two efforts are not part of a coordinated effort to use your private fortune to influence people to vote for you?

NRCC Comment: “Sean Eldridge clearly thinks it’s worth his money to buy a seat at the dinner table with Nancy Pelosi or to fund the special interests and Super PACs that he thinks are worthy. But if Eldridge thinks that voters in the 19th District are as easily bought as his Washington D.C. friends, he’s going to have a rude and costly awakening.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
