Did you happen to catch Nick Rahall’s op-ed in the Fayette Tribune? Well, it’s more of the same deceptive campaigning from Rahall where he claims to be against the Obama Administration’s War on Coal.

Case in point? Rahall emphasizes in his editorial the growing demand for coal in China and America’s opportunity to provide that coal and reduce the trade deficit.

Sound reasonable enough right? Except for the fact that JUST LAST WEEK NICK RAHALL VOTED TO END COAL EXPORTS TO CHINA.

Rahall voted yes on a motion to amend H.R. 761 which would prohibit coal exports to China.

This is more of the same double-dealing from the hypocritical Rahall. When he is in West Virginia he is claiming to stand up for coal, but when he is in Washington he is voting for a carbon tax, attending parties at the EPA to celebrate Obama’s War on Coal, and now voting to prohibit the coal industry from exporting to China.

NRCC Comment: “Nick Rahall might be the most double-dealing hypocrite in Congress. He thumps his chest for the coal industry when he is trying to get votes back home in Southern West Virginia, but when he is in Washington D.C. he votes for a carbon tax, stands by as the EPA looks to end West Virginia’s economy as we know it, and now votes to prohibit coal companies from exporting to China, one of the biggest importers of coal. For the sake of West Virginia’s coal-powered economy, it is time for Nick Rahall to go.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
