600,000 Oregonians Hurt From Another ObamaCare “Glitch”

October 1, 2013

Cover Oregon, the state’s version of ObamaCare, launched this morning – and it looks like, so far, its going exactly as expected.

According to the Associated Press, the website for Cover Oregon is still experiencing glitches, including incorrectly determining users eligibility for certain health plans or tax credits. This means that Oregonians can’t start signing up for health insurance until later in the year.

Remember, under ObamaCare, every American must purchase insurance or face an ObamaCare penalty next year – which means that, for the 600,000 Oregonians currently without health insurance, these website glitches are serious setbacks.

From Koin.com:

“Beginning Tuesday, consumers still can find certified insurance agents or community organizations to help them start the process, and they can browse through insurance options and price estimates. But nobody will be able to enroll in coverage until the problems are fixed, according to the Associated Press.

“Individuals have until Dec. 15 to enroll for coverage that begins Jan. 1. Starting next year, most Americans who don’t have health insurance will face fines.

“This means the 600,000 or so Oregonians currently without health insurance can’t yet begin signing up for guaranteed-acceptance insurance options directly through the Cover Oregon website.”
