Kathleen Sebelius: It’s Cool, The New ObamaCare Exchanges Are Just Like The iPhone

October 1, 2013

You have to hand it to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, she’s willing to say anything to convince us that the opening of ObamaCare exchanges isn’t a total flop.

Yesterday, before the exchanges went online, Sebelius attempted to blunt the coming criticism by comparing the rollout to a new iPhone.

“‘I clearly have an iPad, and I also have an iPhone, and about ten days ago got the prompt that the operating system had changed and did I want to upgrade to the new operating system, and so I did, on both my iPad and my iPhone,’ said HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius hours before the new insurance exchanges went live…’And then about five days after that, I got the second prompt saying, ‘Well, there’s a little problem with the iOS 7 system and now we have a ‘new’ new upgrade and why don’t you re-upgrade your upgrade,’ the secretary said.”

That’s right. Apparently the federal government is Apple and ObamaCare is simply a new iPhone.

This type of analogy is incomprehensible. ObamaCare is a disastrous law that is a burden on the American people. It has raised premiums, cut wages, and will cost our country trillions of dollars. It’s not an innocuous gadget that can simply be tamed by downloading a new operating system.

Sebelius and her liberal colleagues in Washington just aren’t listening to the American people. ObamaCare is as unpopular now as it’s ever been, even in the face of glitch after glitch, they are showing no sign of stopping.

Enough is enough.
