By Standing With Obama and Refusing to Talk, Puts Full Faith and Credit At Risk

WASHINGTON – Politics in Washington is broken and there’s no better proof than Jim Matheson standing with President Obama, who is still refusing to negotiate with Republicans. Matheson simply wants to continue his reckless spending and raise the debt ceiling without any spending reforms.

Enough is enough. It’s time Matheson stop risking default and work with Republicans to bring fiscal sanity to Washington.

“Jim Matheson is so stubborn, he would rather tank the economy than sit down and talk with Republicans,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “Utah voters know this isn’t a game. He is risking default by refusing to negotiate.”

Speaker John Boehner Said President Obama Is Risking Default By Refusing To Negotiate With Republicans. “We’re not going to pass a clean debt limit increase. I told the president, there’s no way we’re going to pass one. The votes are not in the house to pass a clean debt limit and the president is risking default by not having a conversation with us.” (ABC News’ “This Week,” 10/6/13)
