You Won’t Believe What Obama Is Making Yellowstone Park Rangers Do To Tourists Because of the Democrats’ Shutdown

October 9, 2013

It looks like prohibiting World War II veterans from entering DC’s memorials to pay their respects isn’t enough for President Obama and the Democrats to make their government shutdown as painful as possible – harassing tourists in Yellowstone National Park seems to be the latest element of their shutdown strategy.

This morning on Fox News, Yellowstone tourist and Boston resident Pat Vaillancourt recounted how armed park rangers prohibited her and her tour group from taking pictures of bison, blocked access to the Old Faithful geyser – going so far as to patrol in groups whenever the geyser was about to erupt – and even scared foreign tourists, who were concerned they were under arrest.

While President Obama continues to order government employees to make the shutdown as painful as possible so he can score cheap political points, House Republicans continue to pass bill after bill reopening the government.

From Hot Air:

“A follow-up to yesterday’s post about the surreal lengths to which the Park Service is willing to go to punish the people they ostensibly serve. Most of what Pat Vaillancourt says here will be familiar to you but the bit about Old Faithful is new to me. Evidently it wasn’t enough to effectively lock elderly tourists inside their hotel. To make doubly sure that no one snuck up to the geyser for a pic while it was erupting, they drove down to the site 10-15 minutes beforehand and stood guard. That’s how petty this was. Presumably even the tourists taking photos from the windows of the hotel ended up with their Old Faithful memento effectively being photobombed by the NPS. Take that, America.”
