In Advance Of Victory Lap For Failed Healthcare Website, Obama’s Popularity Plummets

October 21, 2013

Gallup is out this morning with a new poll showing President Obama’s approval rating plunging to among the lowest levels of his presidency—on the same day he hopes to salvage the failure of ObamaCare’s website.

According to the firm, his approval rating fell to just 44 percent this quarter—a 3 point drop.

“‘After a relatively strong fourth year that included several quarters of higher ratings that aided his re-election, his approval rating has now declined in each of the last three quarters,’ [Gallup polling analyst Jeffrey] Jones said.

“Presidents Ronald Reagan, Dwight Eisenhower and Bill Clinton all had much higher approval ratings during similar points of their presidencies, according to Gallup, hovering around 60 percent. Obama’s rating does top that of Presidents Richard Nixon and Lyndon Johnson, who were coping with fallout from the Watergate scandal and the Vietnam War, respectively.”

This slip in popularity shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who has followed the news in 2013. The year has been marred by several scandals involving the Obama administration, including the IRS inappropriately targeting conservative groups and new developments regarding the attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi.

Throughout the year, we’ve also seen a torrent of bad headlines and broken promises on ObamaCare. Early on, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius confirmed prices would rise for consumers and we later found out that President Obama’s “if you like it, you can keep it” promise was simply not true.

Add in the unfair ObamaCare delay for big business and the recent website fiasco and it makes you wonder how Obama’s approval ratings are even this high.

What we do know is this: President Obama is marshaling resources and is ready for a fight in 2014. His last hope to enact his big government agenda is with Nancy Pelosi leading a Democratic House.

We can’t turn back the clock to the days of budget-busting bills like the stimulus and ObamaCare.

Join us today and help us remain the last line of defense against President Obama and his deeply unpopular agenda.
