7 Democrats Who Can Run, But Can’t Hide, From Their Support Of ObamaCare
ObamaCare is in shambles and Democrats are desperate to distance themselves from it. But let’s take a walk down memory lane and see what they really think about the failed law.
Here are 7 Democrats Who Can Run, But Can’t Hide, From Their Support of ObamaCare.
“With ObamaCare’s broken promises finally catching up to House Democrats, they’re running as fast as they can from this failed law. After years supporting it, Democrats can run, but then cannot hide from voters who will hold them responsible next November for their rising premiums and canceled plans.” – Matt Gorman, NRCC Spokesman
1. Kurt Schrader
Schrader called President Obama’s “if you like it, you can keep it” promise “grossly misleading.” He must have forgot that he spread the same lie on his website. In 2010, he said, “If individuals like their current plan they may keep that plan for as long as they would like under the final proposal.” When he was called out, a similar statement disappeared from his web site.
2. Kyrsten Sinema
In 2009, Sinema said, “President Obama has said time and time again that for people like myself, who have health care plans that we enjoy — if you like what you have, you can keep it.” What makes the statement even more galling is that she helped craft ObamaCare and traveled across the state to sell the law to skeptical Arizona residents.
3. Patrick Murphy
Murphy said repealing the law would be “an extraordinary step backwards for patients and particularly the families and seniors of South Florida.” Murphy at a 2012 forum also said he “especially like[d]” the law’s state exchanges–the same state exchanges that are filled with glitches and whose basic security is strongly doubted.
4. Rick Nolan
Nolan is so far-left he believed ObamaCare didn’t go far enough. He lamented the fact that “at a minimum” the law didn’t contain a public option. “Well, I am convinced in my heart of hearts and every bone in my body that we need to go to a single payer universal national healthcare plan,” Nolan said.
5. Tim Bishop
Bishop is yet another Democrat who got caught red-handed spreading the lie that President Obama created. On his website he states, “A central feature of reform will be preserving the freedom to choose what works best for you and your family—if you like your doctor, keep your doctor. If you like your current plan, keep your current plan.”
6. Sean Patrick Maloney
Maloney voted against repealing ObamaCare in May 2013 and previously said people will “understand [the law is] a good thing.”
7. Ann Kirkpatrick
Kirkpatrick was in Congress for the original ObamaCare vote and has repeatedly supported it since. She even called it “the right vote for my district.”
