ObamaCare Continues to Pummel Small Business: Student-Based Company Is Forced to Cut Hours For Employees

November 13, 2013

Another day, another disappointing story about ObamaCare and its real life affects on Americans and their jobs, their wallets, and their healthcare.

This time, a franchise owner of College Hunks Hauling Junk, Stephen Bienko, has admitted that due to the health care law’s regulations he’s been forced to cut hours for his 70+ employees.

The company, which employs local students across the country to help with moving services, is suffering with the burdensome regulations and employee mandate requirement. The mandate requires that employees who work more than 30 hours a week must receive health insurance from their employer.

Bienko says that the students they hire generally start as part time, but end up wanting to work full time as their responsibilities increase.

See the interview and report below:

Bienko said that if he adheres to the employee mandate and provides health care to his employees, it’s going to cost him $2,500 a person.

“If it was not for the Affordable Care Act, yes, we would be making these employees full time with 40+ hours a week.”
