Florida Democrat Candidate Running Scared from Her Obamacare Support

November 18, 2013

Gwen Graham has a problem… Obamacare.

Graham is desperate to hide her consistent support for Obamacare and deceive Florida voters now that she’s realized it’s a political liability.

But it’s too late. Florida voters know Graham’s record. The last thing they want is another politician in Washington who won’t do the right thing when it really matters – then turn around and deceive them to play politics and win an election.

From Shark Tank:

“Some have pointed out that Graham seemed to have flip-flopped on the Obamacare issue. While she initially supported the healthcare bill, the Democrat candidate now seems to be against it — many have surmised the shift was political. Obamacare has clearly become an anvil around her neck (and the same can be said for most other Democrat candidates).” (…) “So, Ms. Graham, where exactly do you stand on Obamacare? Would you vote to repeal or defund the healthcare bill? After all, people were told they could keep their doctors and healthcare plans if they wanted to, period. But as we all know now, that was a lie.”

Looks like Gwen is still getting campaign advice from one of her former bosses Mr. Flip-Flop himself John Kerry:

CBS News: Kerry’s Top Ten Flip-Flops

Gwen Graham is trying to hide the fact that she is a huge supporter of Obamacare but unfortunately for Gwen, Florida families already know she is an extreme liberal who supports this train wreck of a law. Gwen has hitched her wagon to some of the most liberal politicians who have a record of flip-flopping on the issues for political gain, so it should come as no surprise that Gwen would also follow suit and try to deceive Florida families all for political gain.

The Obamacare rollout has been a failure –there’s no doubt about that.

Now many Democrat candidates, most of whom initially supported the Obamacare, are coming out in opposition to it. Florida Democrat Gwen Graham has become one of the most vocal liberals to oppose Obamacare, as of recently.

Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) and Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) have put forward a proposal to address the Obamacare blunder. Their proposal would “allow companies to sell current plans to any purchasers interested in buying them.”

Graham is the only Democrat candidate who has come out in support of this proposal.

She bluntly said, “My commitment to the people of North Florida is to keep the promises I make. The President should keep his.”

The Florida Democrat is currently challenging Rep. Steve Southerland (R-FL). Southerland originally co-sponsored the Keep Your Health Plan Act and has vehemently opposed Obamacare from the beginning.

As reported by the Weekly Standard, “[The Keep Your Health Plan Act], which is scheduled for a vote on Friday in the House, would allow individual plans that were on the market in 2013 to be extended, or ‘grandfathered,’ into next year, for both new and existing customers.”

Apparently, Graham is now on board with the Keep Your Health Plan Act. She said, “If in Congress today, I would support the Keep Your Health Plan Act.

It is an issue of fairness and the right thing to do. People were promised that they could keep their health care plan, if they liked it. That promise should be kept.”

Some have pointed out that Graham seemed to have flip-flopped on the Obamacare issue. While she initially supported the healthcare bill, the Democrat candidate now seems to be against it — many have surmised the shift was political. Obamacare has clearly become an anvil around her neck (and the same can be said for most other Democrat candidates).

Graham and Southerland are in a tight race for the 2nd Congressional District seat. It is interesting to note that Graham doesn’t even use the word “Democrat” in her website’s graphics. Perhaps that word has become tarnished as a result of the disastrous Obamacare rollout.

So, Ms. Graham, where exactly do you stand on Obamacare? Would you vote to repeal or defund the healthcare bill? After all, people were told they could keep their doctors and healthcare plans if they wanted to, period. But as we all know now, that was a lie.
