Pete Gallego Promised To Protect Medicare, Now He’s Cutting It

February 26, 2014

WASHINGTON – Last Friday, the Obama Administration proposed a 3.55 percent cut to Medicare Advantage providers for next year. Millions of seniors nationwide depend on this vital program to get the quality healthcare coverage they need.

ObamaCare only exacerbates the damage seniors face. The law includes $156 billion in Medicare Advantage Payment cuts.  With these cuts in place, seniors will face higher costs, reduced coverage, and are at risk of losing the doctor of their choice.

These disastrous side effects of ObamaCare all took place on Pete Gallego’s watch. Gallego promised to protect Medicare, but instead, by supporting ObamaCare, he has failed to stand up for seniors in Texas.

“Just like President Obama, Pete Gallego has only delivered broken promises to seniors in his district,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “Gallego’s campaign rhetoric and his actions in Congress do not add up. Supporting a law that cuts Medicare is no way to go about strengthening the program for future generations. Pete Gallego has once again failed Texas seniors.”
