Radio Buy Targets Sinema For “Shaping” ObamaCare
And Hurting Arizona Families

WASHINGTON – The National Republican Congressional Committee launched a paid radio ad in the Phoenix metropolitan area today using Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema’s own words and unwavering support of ObamaCare against her.

ObamaCare is the biggest issue of the 2014 election – and Sinema is closely identified with the law, having been hand-picked by President Obama to help create the law and sell it to the public. She even attended the signing ceremony in 2010.

In 2012, Sinema admitted what everyone already knows: that she shaped ObamaCare for Arizona. Just a few weeks ago, she doubled-down saying the fundamentals of ObamaCare are good. And to top it off, just like President Obama, Sinema promised that Arizonans could keep their current insurance, if they liked it. The ad details Kyrsten Sinema’s longstanding ties to the disastrous law and shows Arizona voters that she is responsible for their canceled plans and higher premiums.

“Kyrsten Sinema is inextricably linked to ObamaCare,” said NRCC Rapid Response Director Matt Gorman. “At the request of President Obama, she crafted it, campaigned for it, and sticks by it to this day. As Arizonans find higher premiums, canceled plans, and lost wages, they can thank Congresswoman Sinema.”

VOICEOVER: Across the country, ObamaCare is raising premiums, canceling plans, and hurting job creation.

VOICEOVER: And who can Arizonans thank for this disastrous law?

VOICEOVER: Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema.

VOICEOVER: In 2012, Sinema bragged about how she shaped ObamaCare:

KYRSTEN SINEMA: “As many folks in Arizona know, I worked hard to help shape that law.”

VOICEOVER: That’s because she was personally selected by the White House to craft ObamaCare and traveled Arizona selling it. Like Obama, Sinema promised if you liked your plan, you could keep it.

VOICEOVER: Even after she was called out for her broken promises, Sinema still didn’t back down.

SINEMA: “The fundamentals of the law are good.”

VOICEOVER: Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema: She shaped ObamaCare, now she’s hurting Arizona families.

VOICEOVER: Call Congresswoman Sinema and tell her it’s time for someone Arizonans can trust.

VOICEOVER: The National Republican Congressional committee paid for and is responsible for the content of this advertising. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee. W-w-w-dot-n-r-c-c-dot-o-r-g.

Sinema asked to help reform U.S. health care system,” Arizona Capitol Times, June 10, 2009)

In August 2009, Sinema Hosted A Rally To Support President Obama’s Health Care Reform Package. “State Rep. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Phoenix, will host a pro-Obama rally. Sinema, who serves on Obama’s health-reform task force, will be joined by his grass-roots organization, Organizing for America….‘The rally aims to raise awareness about the need for health reform and debunk rumors about the president’s plan, said Sara El-Amine, a state field director for Organizing for America.’” (Ken Alltucker, “White House Backs Off Health Plan,” Gannett News Service, Aug. 17, 2009)

Sinema: If You Like Your Plan, You Can Keep It. “”President Obama has said time and time again that for people like myself, who have health care plans that we enjoy — if you like what you have, you can keep it,” Sinema said.” (Daniel Scarpinato, “Dems At Capitol To Canvass For US Health-Care Overhaul,” Arizona Daily Star, 7/8/09)
