ObamaCare Gone Phishing in Oklahoma

April 23, 2014

Not only has HealthCare.gov experienced repeated glitches and website shutdowns, but the Department of Health and Human Services is also experiencing malfunctions with their postal service.

In Oklahoma, Kini Kay noticed a letter from the Health Insurance Marketplace, which is the division of government where Americans can enroll in ObamaCare, was in his mailbox. This seemed unusual because Kay has not signed up for ObamaCare and has “never been anywhere near that website.”

However, the letter has his home address and his ObamaCare application ID. It then asks him to confirm this information and directs Kay to HealthCare.gov. Additionally, the letter threatened to deny Kay tax credits if he did not contact the division within 45 days.  Albeit, the letter was dated April 1st and he received it on April 14th.

Now, Americans are not only questioning the security of HealthCare.gov but also the safety of their information through the Health Insurance Marketplace postal service.

From The Washington Free Beacon:

“An Oklahoma man is distressed over the lack of identity safety of Obamacare and is alerting others about it after he received a suspicious piece of mail from the Department of Health and Human Services, KWTV reports.

“Kay expressed his frustration with the Obamacare letter: “Sentence after sentence- it’s bizarrely   contradictory and confusing. And it’s dishonest. I never started an application.”
