Chairman Greg Walden’s Statement on Will Hurd’s Victory in the Texas 23rd District Runoff Election
WASHINGTON – National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Greg Walden issued the following statement on Will Hurd’s Republican nomination in the Texas 23rd District primary election runoff.
“Congratulations to Will Hurd on his victory this evening. It’s clear that the families of the 23rd District are disappointed in the lack of leadership from Congressman Pete Gallego and that they are ready to send a real representative who shares their values to Washington.
“Texans are looking for a voice in Washington but Congressman Gallego has consistently voted against the interests of his constituents in this swing district. Congressman Gallego is going to be held accountable this fall because the families in this district deserve real leadership and an elected official that has the experience necessary to turn our economy around and create new middle class jobs
