Will Collin Peterson Help Taxpayers or Help the Administration?

Peterson Can Either Protect Taxpayers From Being Targeted By the IRS or Help the Administration Cover Up Another Scandal

WASHINGTON – Today, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will hold a hearing with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner John Koskinen. He will testify before the panel about the recent scandal involving the IRS losing numerous emails from Lois Lerner’s computer due to a “hard drive crash.”

Collin Peterson has an opportunity to make sure that taxpayers will not be wrongfully targeted by the IRS in the future by holding the Administration accountable and condemning those responsible for this scandal. Unfortunately, Peterson’s refusal to comment on this atrocious matter proves that he is out of touch with his constituents and is helping the Administration cover up a scandal in hopes of political support this election cycle.

“It is completely inexcusable for the IRS to know of Lois Lerner’s missing emails and just now inform Congress,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “Instead of protecting Minnesota taxpayers from being wrongfully targeted by the IRS, Collin Peterson is joining his Democrat allies in helping the Obama Administration cover up another scandal.”
