This Democrat Blames Drugs for The War on Coal

How out of touch is Nick Rahall? He thinks that the reason why coal companies aren’t hiring now is because coal miners are on drugs.

Seriously, this is what he said to Politico: “Our coal companies can’t hire coal miners because they can’t pass a drug test.”

 Not only is this statement offensive, but it’s completely wrong. Coal companies are not trying to hire right now – they are laying off coal miners because of Obama’s War on Coal – a war in which Rahall is complicit.

NRCC Comment: “Nick Rahall is so out-of-touch with his district that he thinks the reason why there are no coal jobs is because coal miners can’t pass drug tests. Not only is this totally offensive, but it is completely wrong. The reason why coal companies aren’t hiring is because Barack Obama is waging a war on coal and Nick Rahall has been more than happy to vote against coal interests in Congress to keep his prized Washington status intact.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
