…Because Who Really Follows The Law Anyway?
Given A Chance To Stand Up For The Rule Of Law, Tim Bishop Shrugs
WASHINGTON – No one is above the law. Not an average citizen. Not a member of Congress. Not even a president. That’s why it matters when the president doesn’t follow the law and notify Congress in advance of his controversial prisoner swap.
Today, Tim Bishop had the opportunity to condemn this unlawful act. It’s not about party; it’s about the rule of law. Tim Bishop would rather protect President Obama than stand up for what’s right. And that’s exactly what’s wrong with Washington today. But don’t take the NRCC’s word for it, even the Government Accountability Office agreed the White House broke the law.
“This vote is beyond party politics,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “Tim Bishop is too busy protecting President Obama to please Nancy Pelosi and her Democrat colleagues instead of doing what’s right and standing up for the rule of law.

GAO: Obama’s Controversial Prisoner Swap Violated The Law. “The Obama administration violated the law when it failed to give Congress adequate notice about the transfer of five detainees from Guantanamo Bay as part of a swap for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the investigative arm of Congress said Thursday.”
