September 23, 2014

The NRCC launched a new ad today highlighting Collin Peterson’s congressional perks over his long career in Washington. The ad, called “Helping Himself,” references Collin Peterson’s recent comment defending his taxpayer-funded private plane.

Peterson: “It would be cheaper to drive,” but “it’s much quicker to fly.”

NRCC Comment: “The fact that Collin Peterson doubled down and defended his taxpayer-funded private plane should alarm a lot of Minnesota voters. Peterson’s 23 years in Washington have changed him for the worse and it’s clear he prefers his congressional perks over the Minnesota families he is supposed to represent.”– Tyler Q. Houlton, NRCC Spokesman

Transcript:

ANNCR: 23 years in Washington. Somewhere along the way, Collin Peterson stopped helping us and started helping himself.

There’s the leased cars, now he’s defending his plane.

Peterson said “it would be cheaper to drive, but it’s much quicker to fly.”

$280,000 in Peterson’s pocket to pay for his plane. Been there so long, he’s forgotten it’s our money.

Collin Peterson, he’s just helping himself.
