This Democrat Running For Congress Won’t Comment on ISIL or Ebola

K Cain Budget

What kind of candidate for Congress would refuse to speak to reporters about whether we should put boots on the ground in the Middle East and whether we should screen some travelers for Ebola?

Emily Cain, the Democrat running for Congress in the 2nd District of Maine.

In two separate instances, Cain did not respond to the Portland Press Herald’s request for comment on (1) the ISIL crisis in the Middle East, and (2) the risk of the Ebola virus coming to the United States.

Quite frankly, this failure to confront issues of national security by a candidate for Congress is unacceptable.

NRCC Comment: “It is completely unacceptable that Emily Cain, a candidate for the United States Congress, is unwilling to offer her views on serious threats to our health and national security. These are the kind of issues that will continue to come up in the next Congress and the fact that Cain won’t comment on them speaks volumes about her lack of seriousness as a Congressional candidate.”– NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
