Ann Kirkpatrick vs. Ann Kirkpatrick

January 21, 2015

Kirkpatrick vs KirkpatrickAs low gas prices finally provide Arizona families relief at the pump, voters enjoying some extra money in the bank might be surprised to learn that Ann Kirkpatrick is flip-flopping on energy issues and opposing legislation to ensure access to affordable natural gas.

Today, Kirkpatrick blatantly contradicted her previous stance on affordable energy by voting against H.R. 161, a bill that would ensure low-cost and reliable natural gas, even though she supported a nearly identical bill in 2013.

The support of fourteen Democrats, including fellow Arizonan Rep. Krysten Sinema (AZ-09), gave today’s bill bipartisan credibility and showcased Kirkpatrick’s continued sprint to the left. Since her re-election less than 3 months ago, Kirkpatrick has abandoned all efforts of maintaining a moderate façade and let her liberal light shine.

NRCC Comment: “The Ann Kirkpatrick that campaigned as a moderate wouldn’t recognize the Ann Kirkpatrick that has been casting hardline liberal votes in the new Congress. Kirkpatrick’s vote today against affordable energy shows she is clearly done pretending to be a moderate and fully embracing Nancy Pelosi’s liberal agenda, regardless of the consequences to Arizona families.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
