GTMO detainees to San Diego?

May 1, 2015

Yesterday, Scott Peters joined with Nancy Pelosi in voting to allow terrorists housed at the United States’ Guantanamo Bay facility to be transferred to and permanently housed on US soil. You’d think representing a district chocked full of military service members would make this an easy “no” vote for Peters. You’d be wrong.SD

Peters will be hard pressed to explain his vote to the 40,000 men and women in uniform living in his district who put their lives on the line to defend America against terrorism. Does Peters support bringing GITMO detainees to San Diego? What about to Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco? Or is Peters practicing the worst kind of “not-in-my-backyard” politics?

Once again, Peters is siding with Nancy Pelosi and his liberal bosses instead of considering the wishes of his constituents, many of whom risk their lives to defend against the allies of the very terrorists in question.

NRCC Comment: “With his vote to bring terrorist onto American soil, Scott Peters ignored the best interests and very real sacrifices of his constituents, many of whom risk their lives to fight terrorism. Instead of standing for the thousands of service members in his district, Scott Peters chose to stand with Nancy Pelosi and her liberal allies.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
