Which anti-Long Island measure does Dave Calone like the most?

May 12, 2015

bundle-of-cash-walletIn a recent interview with Politico Pro, Dave Calone said he was running for Congress because Lee Zeldin is “out of step” with the “moderate [NY-01] district.”  Calone should be the last person on Long Island talking about being “out of step” considering some of the campaign checks he’s written.  For example, he gave $2,600 to the NYS Democratic Senate Campaign Committee between 2007 and 2012.

What exactly did the Senate Democrats do in Albany to make Calone think they were anything but out of step with Long Island families?  Was it when they raised taxes and fees by $14 billion during their two year stint in the majority from 2009 to 2011?  Maybe it was when they created the MTA Payroll tax that crushed Long Island small businesses. Or perhaps Calone just really liked it when State Senate Democrats eliminated the STAR property tax rebate check for Long Island homeowners.

And don’t even get us started on the $20,000 he gave to Nancy Pelosi’s DCCC or $10,600 he gave Tim Bishop.

NRCC Comment: “Dave Calone gave thousands of dollars to support the politicians responsible for the MTA payroll tax, elimination of STAR rebate checks, and higher taxes and fees on Suffolk County families.  He should be the last person on earth talking about being out of step with Suffolk County families.” –NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
