Is New York Congressman Steve Israel Trying to Win the Support of Terrorists?

May 15, 2015

Israel-PelosiWhat exactly was New York Congressman Steve Israel thinking last night when he voted twice to ease the security around known terrorists?  First, he voted for an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would close the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay and allow the transfer of terror suspects to the United States and potentially into our civilian justice system.

Moments later, Israel voted on another amendment to allow the release of detainees from Guantanamo Bay into the Unites States, Yemen, or another combat zone.  (Because what could possibly go wrong with releasing a known terrorist into a combat zone filled with fellow terrorists who are armed with weapons?)

NRCC Comment:  “Steve Israel seems more concerned with scoring brownie points with Nancy Pelosi than he is with keeping his Long Island constituents safe.  Steve Israel owes it to his constituents to represent their interests and not the interests of known terrorists looking to do Americans harm.” -NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
