NRCC sends Ami Bera “Think For Yourself: Avoiding Plagiarism” book

May 19, 2015

After two weeks of bad press for Ami Bera around multiple plagiarized op-eds, the NRCC is sending Bera “Think For Yourself: Avoiding Plagiarism,” a book to help writers “use someone else’s words appropriately in your papers and projects.”bera book

First, news broke that Bera had cribbed White House talking points for a May 2nd op-ed in the Sacramento Bee.

Within a week, another story surfaced which revealed Bera had copied large portions of a column for the Fulsom Telegraph nearly word for word from House Democrat talking points.

We are confident that “Think For Yourself: Avoiding Plagiarism” will give Ami Bera some valuable insights into why plagiarizing is wrong.  From the book:

It might seem easy to plagiarize, but the consequences can be rough. At the very least, the plagiarist loses the respect and trust of teachers and peers.

Can we add “voters” to that list?

NRCC Comment: “After multiple columns chock-full of copy-and-paste public policy, Ami Bera’s credibility is shot. Hopefully, this book will convince Bera to think for himself and stop trying to pass off Democrat talking points as his own work.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
