Collin Peterson refuses to take himself off retirement watch

July 13, 2015

Retirement-PlanWith yet another anemic fundraising quarter, Collin Peterson refuses to take himself off the retirement watch list. Bringing in only $141,000 in Q2, Peterson has just $236,000 cash on hand, a far lower number than you’d expect from a Democrat in a Republican leaning district.

Last quarter, Peterson raised only $128,000, stoking retirement talk despite his claims to the contrary. When asked if he’s running again, Peterson says, “Yes. Until I’m not,” without a hint of irony. But if Peterson were so determined to run again, wouldn’t he focus a little more on his fundraising?

“After yet another bad fundraising quarter, Collin Peterson simply refuses to take himself off the retirement watch list. Democrats are moving left, and Peterson knows full-well that he will find himself caught between a far-left liberal at the top of the ticket and Republican voters in the 7th District.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
