Pete Gallego’s cash flow issues

July 13, 2015

According to the Texas Tribune, Pete Gallego, a former member running in TX-23, raised a paltry $224,000 in his first quarter as Congressional candidate and has only $174,000 cash on hand.cash flow

Gallego’s numbers look even worse when you compare them to Congressman Will Hurd’s $458,000 quarter and $685,000 cash on hand. In fact, Hurd’s cash on hand is more than double what Gallego’s was this time last cycle when Gallego was in office.

National Democrats who touted Gallego as a top recruit might be rethinking their enthusiasm after seeing these numbers. Clearly 23rd District voters have little enthusiasm of their own for Gallego’s candidacy if he can only raise $224,000 in his first quarter in the race.

“Pete Gallego’s lackluster fundraising is a direct reflection of the lack of enthusiasm 23rd District voters have for another Gallego campaign. Congressman Hurd’s strong leadership has proven to be a stark contrast with Gallego’s liberal record, and the numbers reflect that.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
