Joe Atkins says no as MNsure rates skyrocket

October 1, 2015

In a stroke of comedic brilliance, MNsure architect and DFL Rep. Joe Atkins scheduled a press conference to inform the media he wouldn’t be running in MN-02 just minutes after painful health care rate increases up to 49% were announced.  MNsure_rates

But liberals should fear not – Angie Craig and Mary Lawrence, the 2 DFLers already declared in the race, are strong proponents of government run health care and happily embrace these staggering rate hikes that Minnesota Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman called “unacceptably high.”

While Craig and Lawrence continue to rally around failed health care policies that increase premiums, 2nd District families are forced to make ends meet as liberal policies cost them more every month.

“It is only fitting that Joe Atkins, the architect of MNsure, would decline to run for Congress the same day health care premiums skyrocket by up to 49% for thousands of Minnesotans. But liberals Angie Craig and Mary Lawrence continue to support these same failed policies that increase health care premiums and make it harder for thousands of Minnesota families to make ends meet every month.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
