VIDEO: Morgan Carroll stonewalls constituent question on GITMO

November 10, 2015

carroll_smileBelow is a transcript and video of Morgan Carroll refusing to answer a constituent question at a town hall this weekend about GITMO detainees being transferred to Colorado. Can you spot where Carroll goes wrong?

Constituent: I was wondering, how do you feel about the Guantanamo Bay prisoners being brought here and President Obama bypassing Congress in order to close Guantanamo Bay?

Carroll: So, we usually use this time for constituents instead of partisan political trackers.

Constituent: Alright.

Carroll: *forced smile* And so are there any other constituents with questions?

In case it isn’t clear, Carroll stepped all over herself by stonewalling a constituent asking a timely question while simultaneously claiming to answer only constituent questions. 41 Colorado sheriffs, including both Arapahoe and Adams county sheriffs, have publicly asked President Obama to keep GITMO terrorists out of CO, why won’t Carroll? Instead of ignoring a constituent and continually dodging on an important issue to avoid taking a stand, Carroll should be willing to stand up to President Obama and fight for the safety of Coloradans.

“Instead of blatantly ignoring a constituent’s question and continually dodging on her stance on bringing GITMO detainees to Colorado, Carroll should be willing to stand up to President Obama and fight for the safety of Coloradans. Time is running out for Carroll to speak up for Colorado families by opposing President Obama’s dangerous plan to close GITMO.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
