More DCCC carpetbagging in CA-21

December 9, 2015

emilioooooooWord on the street is that the DCCC is on recruit number five in CA-21, and – wait for it – he doesn’t even live in the district. After four high-profile rejections, Democrats have to look outside the district to find someone willing to even consider running (aside from local favorite, but poor fundraiser Daniel Parra). Bakersfield attorney Emilio Huerta currently lives and works in CA-23, but is being recruited to carpetbag his way into CA-21.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because it is the standard M.O. for national Democrats in this district. Given that David Valadao has walked to victory by double digits the last two elections, I’ll let you judge the effectiveness of their strategy for yourself.

“After four major recruitment failures, national Democrats are so desperate to find a viable candidate in CA-21 that they aren’t even recruiting in the district anymore. With virtually all local Democrat support behind flailing Daniel Parra, Washington Democrats are left grasping at straws and setting themselves up for yet another failure in 2016.” – NRCC spokesman Zach Hunter
