Collin Peterson Feels The Bern

Despite representing a GOP-leaning district, Collin Peterson announced this weekend that he will happily throw his weight behind self-avowed democratic socialist Bernie Sanders as a superdelegate at the Democratic National Convention this summer.

Peterson said that by backing Sanders he will be voting his district, even though the 7^th District has supported the GOP presidential nominee since 2004. Sanders’ far-left proposals are a nonstarter with many Democrats and Peterson’s support of Sanders will fare badly with many GOP-leaning voters in the general election.
