Is DCCC leaving “loser” Melissa Gilbert behind?
It looks like the DCCC is leaving behind “loser” candidate Melissa Gilbert in MI-08. According to Politico Pro, Gilbert is one of only two Democrat candidates in the entire country who was not elevated in the DCCC’s disastrous Red to Blue program. This has been quite a fall from grace for Gilbert, who was once called a “top-tier” candidate by DCCC .
Gilbert’s campaign has been bogged down by her comments defending child rapist Roman Polanski and for owing $472,000 in back taxes. And lately, Gilbert has been taking heat for refusing to take questions from the local media, who said Gilbert “wasn’t willing to talk to us,” and for refusing to participate in a Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce candidate’s forum because “she didn’t want to answer questions from the audience.”
