Pete Gallego’s Super PAC Hypocrisy

August 10, 2016

Despite benefiting from nearly $2 million in Super PAC spending in 2012 and 2014, Pete Gallego is now hypocritically trying to build support by decrying the influence of Super PACs in his race. Adding to the hypocrisy, Nancy Pelosi’s Super PAC has reserved $850,000 to boost Gallego this year, and yet he has said nothing.

2016: Nancy Pelosi’s Super PAC has reserved $851,618 in TX-23 to boost Gallego’s campaign.

2014: Pro-Gallego Super PACs spent $501,659.

2012: Pro-Gallego Super PACs spent $1,337,511.

If Gallego vehemently opposes Super PAC spending, he should call on Nancy Pelosi’s Super PAC to cancel their ad reservations for this fall. Will Gallego stand by his newfound principles or will he continue to welcome Super PAC spending on his behalf?

NRCC Comment: “After benefiting from nearly $2 million in Super PAC ads, it is the height of hypocrisy for Pete Gallego to now decry their spending in his election. If Gallego does not immediately call on Nancy Pelosi’s Super PAC to cancel their planned spending in his race, voters will know Gallego is just another craven politician who will say anything to get elected.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach HunterGallego
