Steve Santarsiero skips joint legislative session on opioid abuse

September 29, 2016

steve santarsieroSteve Santarsiero truly is a do-nothing Harrisburg politician. In the past 10 days, Santarsiero has missed 40 out of 59 votes in Harrisburg, including a joint session of the legislature focused on the prevention and treatment of opioids. According to The Morning Call, “the number of Pennsylvanians who died from opioid overdoses rose 23 percent to 3,383 between 2014 and 2015.”

Unlike Steve Santarsiero, who couldn’t even be bothered to show up for work to attend the joint session, Brian Fitzpatrick has spent his career fighting to stem the tide of drug abuse. It’s nice to see at least one of the candidates in PA-08 recognizes the severity of the heroin crisis in Pennsylvania.

NRCC Comment: “Steve Santarsiero should be ashamed of himself for skipping a special join session of the legislature focused on battling Pennsylvania’s opioid crisis. Once again, Steve Santarsiero has demonstrated that he is a do-nothing Harrisburg politician who only looks out for himself.” -NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
